Elementary School Teacher of the Year
Kathleen teaches composition to K-4th graders at Southdown Elementary. Kathy says that she was, "without a doubt, born to teach."
The parent of one of her students wrote, "...your love for children and your approach of making them believe in themselves is more than an act of a teacher. It is an act of total commitment to the children and the love of the job."
Kathy's philosophy of teaching can be summed up in a quote from Zig Zigler. "Duty makes us do things well, but love makes us to do them beautifully." Her belief in this statement drives her instruction and contributes to her success as a teacher.
