Our daycare has educated thousands of children since 1990, and was founded by Jane Doe, a parent of three wonderful children. Jane, a former elementary school teacher decided to take up formal child development education at the local community college. She received her Associates Degree two years later and opened up her daycare.
Our daycare center focuses on problem solving, decision making and self-help, while promoting interpersonal communications. These are key elements which contribute to the child’s development, self esteem and confidence.
Twenty years ago a group of concerned Terrebonne Parish business leaders recognized the need to provide additional support to the local public school district. With much determination and hard work in 1991, 501(c)(3) non-profit status was granted to the Terrebonne Foundation for Academic Excellence in Public Education (TFAE) and our journey began.
The Foundation's purpose is to positively affect academic achievement and to fundamentally improve education for students in the Terrebonne Parish Public School System.
TFAE serves as the catalyst to encourage, support, and stimulate teachers and schools in their efforts to achieve excellence in public education.
The Foundation has as it's immediate goal to create an endowed fund of two million dollars, an amount roughly equal to one hundred dollars per public school student in Terrebonne Parish. It currently has over 1.8 million dollars on deposit with the Greater New Orleans Foundation made possible through the generosity of local citizens, businesses, and community organizations.
We are grateful for our benefactors support of public eduation in our community.
